Cart Program
We would take a completely data-driven approach to our entire portable program at the Denver Zoo. Your onsite E15 Partner Strategy Analyst would utilize our dashboards to collect data which would drive all programming decisions including the items offered, the locations activated, hours of operation, and pricing. The more data we collect about your guests and how they behave while inside the Denver Zoo, the better we become at optimizing basket size, increasing revenue, and enhancing the experience.
Our preliminary plan, absent the analytics that we would collect during year one, is a comprehensive zone strategy that will meet each guest wherever they are in their journey through the zoo. Your guests enter at different times of the day, some turn right, others turn left. Whichever path they choose they should never be more than a few steps from whatever it is that they crave. Each zone will feature icy cold drinks, hot coffee or cocoa, savory snacks, and amazing Instagrammable treats that inspire awe.
We are proposing a portable program which would be used to create new portable experiences of all shapes and sizes including:
A Fleet of “Tricycle” Style Mobile Carts
These versatile tricycles have a small footprint and can be utilized in new locations without impeding foot traffic. Unlike our more substantial “portables,” they are extremely easy to move. They can be grouped together in a “bike rally” during the lunch rush and moved to the exits later in the day to help capture that last sale. Proposed offerings include:
- Draught nitro coffee and pastries
- Craft beer and pretzels
- Color changing lemonade and cotton candy
- Frozen water ice and adult boozy popsicles
- Cocktails on tap
Food Trucks
Food trucks are a great option for high traffic areas where more substantial hot food offerings are needed. Our recommendation would be a food truck near the “Bird World” area featuring hot grilled items and fried chicken. This thoroughfare should be a great spot, located roughly at the halfway point of the visitors zoo experience it could be combined with outdoor seating areas and dessert portables to create a pop up food court style experience.
Electric Vans
Fully mobile and environmentally friendly, these vans can are the perfect mobile solution that we envision using for:
- Soft serve ice cream and loaded milkshakes
- Slushies for adults and children
- Craft Coffee and loaded hot chocolate
- Craft beer, lemonade and root beer on tap
Kiosks and Portable Carts
Designed to deliver Instagrammable experiences that inspire awe such as our proposed “Monkey Tails,” a loaded churro topped with dark and white chocolate, fruity pebbles, and rainbow sprinkles, served with soft serve vanilla custard.
In summary, creating a more strategic, data driven portable program for the Denver Zoo will:
- Elevate the offerings based on current market trends
- Allow us to flex up and flex down by season, event or time of day to optimize our point of sale ratio
- Increase flexibility to meet our guests wherever they are in their journey without ever having to seek out what they crave
- Create awe inspiring, instagramable experiences that are memorable
- Drive impulse purchases and per capita spending
