Beverage Program

Craft Coffee

Improving the coffee experience is a major opportunity to drive sales and enhance the guest experience. We are proposing a great local roaster, Ozo Coffee, as our coffee supplier and their products will be featured in both our catering as well as retail outlets.

Soda & Sparkling Water

We could explore Coca-Cola Freestyle as a potential good fit to offer on-trend products such as the Zero Sugar lines, flavored/sparkling water, and flavors that appeal to children. To create a tech-forward experience, we could pair Freestyle and other soda dispensers throughout the property with technology such as ValidFill or DraftServ to incorporate all-day-use cups, season pass souvenir cups, etc.

Beer

Our strong partnerships with Breckenridge Brewery (via Anheuser-Busch) and New Belgium would both produce a custom “Zoo Brew” specifically for us. As we know from the market research, craft beer is incredibly important and will be a robust part of our beverage program.

Wine

There is a strong opportunity to Incorporate wine-based drinks such as Riesling Radler, Strawberry Cooler, and The Spritz based on Denver Zoo guests’ propensity for wine. These are easy-drinking, great-tasting, and easy to serve. Featuring wine like Rose Bubbles and Pinot Gris from companies such as Underwood is a perfect pair for mission alignment as they have formed a partnership with the Nature Conservancy.

Beverage Technology

Self-pour Technology

We would look to include self-pour technology such as PourMyBeer in select locations, like The Watering Hole experience. This technology can also pour wine. If you would like to see this technology in action, one option is a visit to an outdoor beer wall on a patio with 30 taps at the Stanley Beer Hall, which is located less than 5 miles from the zoo and powered by PourMyBeer.
